Labradorite square diamond drop earrings (pe615)

Contemporary, beaten pewter diamond shapes set with large labradorite square cabochons. Surgical steel hooks.
Labradorite is a sodium-rich variety of plagioclase feldspar found in igneous or metamorphic rocks. Its beauty as a gemstone is mainly because of its metallic lustre which is caused by internal reflection from fine layers of crystals and also by the inclusion of impurities such as magnetite. At first glance it appears grey but flashes of blue, green, gold, red and purple can be seen when the gemstone is moved through different angles. The iridescent colours in labradorite have been compared to the wings of tropical butterflies.
Width: 26mm Length (incl. hook): 41mm
Supplied in a satin and velvet-lined gift box.
