The Egyptian god Horus the Younger was the son of Isis and Osiris. When still a child he fought his wicked uncle Seth and lost his left eye. The eye was later healed by the god Thoth and once restored became one of the most powerful Egyptian symbols. Horus was crowned King of Egypt and is depicted here as a falcon.
